A wonderful note from Brant this morning
Corinthians 4:15-17 (NLT)-
All of this is for your benefit. And as God’s grace reaches more and more people, there will be great thanksgiving, and God will receive more and more glory.
That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day. For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever!
Have you ever felt like giving up during times of difficulty?
There have been many times in my life when I felt like the weight of the world was on my shoulders. During these times, it felt as if difficult situation after difficult situation were being hurled at me.
While I would like to say that I did not give into the pressures and weight of these situations, I cannot. Rather than mustering the strength to move forward, I chose to give up and walk away.
Giving up taught me an interesting lesson about faithfulness. In my experience, faithfulness means moving forward regardless of the pressures and weight of a situation. It means mustering the courage to turn to God for guidance. It means trusting that God will embolden us with determination, diligence, and persistence. Faithfulness means not knowing how to quit.
I may not know much, but I do know that it is always too soon to quit. In as much as it is always too soon to quit, I know that God uses situations, problems, and troubles to test, strengthen, and renew our faithfulness.
Today, let’s remember that the troubles, problems, and situations in our lives are meant to teach us and to strengthen our diligence, determination, and character. As such, despite the situations that we may be going through, let’s remember to continue moving forward and to never give up.
Father God, thank you for using our troubles, problems, and situations toproduce glory. Thank you for using our troubles to test, strengthen, and renew our faithfulness. In faithfulness, please guide us to give youmore and more glory. As we do so, please help us to act with diligence, determination, and character. In determination and character, please teach us to never give up. All of this we pray in the faithful name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.
